CARNIVAL CRUISE VACATIONS
Carnival is arguably one of
the most well known of all the cruise lines. With over twenty (20) ships
in its lineup, it sponsors cruise vacations to most any area you may want
to visit. From the Mexican Riviera to the Caribbean, Carnival ships
seem to cover the planet.
To ensure that they are meeting the
public's demands for cruise travel, Carnival has established affiliations
with the Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Windstar and
others. In addition, they also
purchased the famous Cunard Line (Queen Mary, Queen Victoria).
CARNIVAL CRUISE SHIPS
Carnival cruises cater to the
public masses looking for a fun cruise holiday with ships ranging from
fairly small to enormous. The ever-growing fleet is turning its vessels into
massive floating super hotels with Las Vegas style entertainment and upscale
cuisine. The newest super liners continue to grow in size.
The current fleet lineup consists of the following ships:

The company
is relentless in continuing to expand its shipping fleet and the number and type of
cruise deals available. One of the latest ships, the Carnival Liberty, is their first to be based in
Europe for its European cruise tours. Included in its sailing schedules
are vacation trips to the South of France, the Greek Isles and
many ports of call in between.
Even larger ships
than the Liberty are about to debut soon. The up-coming Carnival
Splendor will accommodate up to 3,000 passengers, a group larger than that
of many
small cities.
Carnival recently
began a series of four and five day voyages from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas and
Ensenada, Mexico. These trips, sailing on the Elation, fill up
quite fast. Vacation
travelers can take a week's vacation in the sun, or just escape for a long
weekend not far from home. However, if you'd prefer something a little farther
south, you can also take off on a 15-day Carnival cruise
package to the Panama Canal.
Finally, if you
don't care where you go, consider the Carnival Cruises to Nowhere
(yes, really). Currently sailing out of the ports at Norfolk, Virginia and
New York, you can cruise for two days to nowhere on the Liberty or Legend!
So, whether you are
looking for short-term Carnival Singles cruise specials to the Bahamas or a 14-day
European cruise, the Carnival Cruise Line obviously has a vacation
plan for you.
CHEAP CARNIVAL CRUISES - DEALS
Discount
cruise vacations are advertised just about everywhere. However, before
looking for a cheap cruise deal, it is important to understand what type
of ship you will be sailing on. For instance, the Holiday and Celebration were
commissioned before 1985, have few balcony cabins, and are primarily good for
gamblers and party-goers. These dated ships should offer the least expensive
Carnival cruises.
The Fantasy-class
vessels (circa 1990's) including the Fascination, Paradise, Ecstasy,
Imagination, Sensation and Elation were also built with a shortage of balcony
suites, but they are known for good food and good itineraries. You'll find a
reasonable number of discount cruise specials on these ships as well.
The latest ships
like the Conquest, Glory, Valor, Liberty and Freedom are large enough to be
small sailing cities. These 110,00-ton behemoths carry about 3400 passengers and
offer all the amenities of a luxury resort. Since these luxury cruise ships
are very popular, the cheap deals will be harder to find.
CHEAP CARNIVAL CRUISES - SUMMARY
As usual, you will need to shop
around and start very early to find the best cruise deals. Last minute
cruise specials are a great way to go if your schedule is
flexible. If not, at least make sure to work with a cruise vacation operator
that books a large number of discount cruises. This will help insure that
the suppliers are giving them the cheap Carnival Cruises that you
are seeking.
